Objective
The purpose of this course is to develop students' individual ability in literature review, research
methods, paper presentation techniques, and case studies that are not covered by courses regularly
offered in the Animal Science and Pastures program, but which are important for the training of new
researchers who will work in animal production, such as: sustainability; circularity in production
systems; environmental footprint; carbon footprint; water footprint; animal welfare; consumption of
animal protein and alternative sources of protein for human food.

Content
area or related to sustainability, circularity in production systems, environmental footprint, carbon
footprint, water footprint, animal welfare, consumption of animal protein and alternative sources of
protein for human food. The subject/problem to be developed can be: a bibliographic review of a critical
nature, an in-depth study of a certain laboratory or research method, a field study, a case study, etc.
Within the period foreseen for the end of the study, the student must present research articles related to
the chosen theme, in the format of an oral presentation in a scientific event, present the final work
orally to colleagues and professor of the discipline and also in writing, in the form of a review of
literature.
