Objective
Increase knowledge of issues related to reproductive management of cows, to properly train
professionals for research activities and / or teaching in livestock production area.
Content
Use programs for management of dairy and beef herds, such as AGENDA and DAIRY COMP 305.
Reproductive physiology. Action of the main hormones and metabolites on reproduction. Body condition,
energy balance and cyclicity in cows. Dry matter intake and metabolism of steroid hormones. Special
features of the reproductive physiology of the high-producing dairy cow and beef cows. Nutritional
management and / or reproductive strategies to increase reproductive efficiency in cattle. Estrus and /
or ovulation synchronization protocols for artificial insemination.
