Objective
Enable students in basic concepts about procedures and methods to determine the digestibility and
biological availability of nutrients in feeds and diets, determination of nutritient requirements and
evaluation of growth performance of non-ruminant animals

Content
1) Planning experiments to evaluate additives, feeds and diets, and to determine the nutrient
requirements of monogastric animals. 2) Methods to determine digestibility and biological availability of
nutrients in feeds for monogastric animals. 3) Growth performance trials to evaluate feed additives,
feeds and diets. 4) Methods to determine the nutrients requirements of monogastric: growth
performance trials with practical diets, factorial method and models to determine nutritient.
