To transmit the concepts and procedures for the evaluation of seed quality, regarding the genetic, physical and physiological parameters associated with seed production. Research information inherent to the subject's knowledge.

Historic. Objectives of the seed analysis. Rules for seed analysis. Seed sampling. Purity analysis. Identification of seeds. Viabilit tests: germination and tetrazolium. Determination of the seed moisture. Other seed tests. Vigor tests. Additional tests for seed analysis. Research in seed analysis.
