Objective
and processes and landscape evolution.
2. Provide basics of paleoenvironmental reconstitution in the soil-landscape context, presenting the
main techniques that employ pedo and bioindicators and isotopic analyzes (14C dating and stable soil
and plant carbon isotopes).
3. Empower the student in the interpretation of past environmental changes and correlate them with
pasta and actual biogeographic, geomorphological and pedological aspects.

Content
Environmental transformations from the quaternary period. Basics of Paleo -Environmental
Reconstitution in the geographical context based on terrestrial records (soils, paleosols and sediments),
presenting the main techniques that employ pedoindicators (morphology, chemistry, physics and
mineralogy of soils), isotopic analysis (14C dating and stable isotopes. and organic carbon from soil and
plants) and bioindicators (phytolites, pollen, sponges and diatoms). Interpretation of past environmental
changes and their correlations with actual and past biogeographic, geomorphological and pedological
aspects.
