Objective
Obtain knowledge of the physiological processes of plants and their implications for the biocycle. Deepen the study of the biophysical and biochemical processes involved in the physiological mechanisms of plants. Know the relationship of water economy processes, photosynthesis and plant respiration with agricultural productivity.

Water in the Plant. Diffusion, Osmosis and Imbibition. Water Potentials: Matrix, Osmotic and Pressure. Water Relations in Plant Cells and Tissues. Water in the Soil - Plant - Atmosphere System. Absorption and Loss of Water by Plants. Passive and Osmotic Absorption. Perspiration and Guttation Losses. Stomatal Mechanism. Water Savings in the Plant. Transport of Water in the Plant. Absorption of Inorganic Solutes. Translocation of Inorganic Nutrients in the Plant. Photosynthesis. Photochemical Phase of Photosynthesis. Calvin cycle. Factors of Photosynthesis. Photosynthesis and Plant Productivity; citric acid cycle; Electron Transport Chain. Respiratory balance; Via pentose phosphate; Alternative Oxidase. Transport in the phloem: Transport routes; loading and unloading; source-sink relationships.
