Abstract: Nanoparticles have been widely regarded as powerful tools for the advancement of many areas in science, notably biotechnology and biomedicine. Magnetic nanoparticles are of particular interest due to their unique magnetic properties, which enhance separation, as well as MR contrasting and heat generation as in hyperthermia. However, in order to adapt to specific applications, the design of a magnetic nanoparticle is critical. In this presentation, several examples of designs of magnetic nanoparticles are introduced. The applications will cover plant science, biomedical imaging and biocatalysis.
