The course aims to provide students with basic knowledge regarding molecular genetics and its association with phenotypic characteristics and the evolution. The studies of cellular and molecular biology associated with the regulation of gene expression will also be addressed as a basis for the understanding of biological processes in a holistic view of genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics and metabolomics, data integration and systems biology as well as other molecular tools.

Introduction, molecular basis of cells, structure and function of proteins, concept of gene and genomics, regulation of gene expression at transcriptional and post-transcriptional level, cell signaling, RNA interference, cell cycle control, molecular genetics study techniques, systems biology.
