Árvore da família Leguminosae, da espécie Schizolobium parahyba (Vell.) Blacke.
Nota 1 e 2:Tem ocorrência desde o sul da Bahia até o Rio Grande do Sul, com antigo registro na flora dos estados do Centro e Sudeste brasileiros; caule retilíneo, alimpado, liso e imponente, que atinge 20 – 30 m de altura e 0,60 – 0,80 m de diâmetro, casca lisa, cinzenta, com marcas transversais em relevo, pouco salientes, mas verde nos exemplares novos.

Note 1 and 2: It occours from the south of Bahia until Rio Grande do Sul states, with records in the wild life of the brazilian center and southeast states; It has rectillinear, cleanly, smooth and imposing stem, which reaches 20 – 30 m high and 0.60 – 0.80 m of diameter, its bark is smooth, gray, with transversal marks in projection, non evident, but green in the new plants.
