Nota 1 e 2: Encontrada nas matas do Rio de Janeiro, Minas Gerais e São Paulo. Ela é grande, com fruto vagem, achatado, cujas sementes tem arilo comestível, principalmente pelos macacos; daí a designação popular.

A tree of the family Leguminosae-Cesalpinioidae, of the species Swartizia langsdorffii Radii (Tounatea pulchra Taub).
Note 1 and 2: It is found in the woods of the states of Rio de Janeiro, Minas Gerais and São Paulo. It is high with flat pod fruit whose seeds have eatable aril, mainly by monkeys, there comes its name.
