Família de plantas do gênero Equisetum, das espécies: : 1) E. bogotense HBK, 2) E. giganteum L. 3) E. pyramidale Goldm., 4) E. ramosissimum Desf., and 5) E. xylochaetum Metten.
Nota 1 e 2: Elas habitam as Guianas, Amazônia, Minas Gerais, Mato Grosso, Paraná, Santa Catarina e Rio grande do Sul. Elas constam de um rizoma subterrâmeo, articulado e de ramos eretos e aéreos provenientes de nós.

Note 1 and 2: They inhabit the Guianas, Amazonia, Minas Gerais, Mato Grosso, Rio Grande do Sul, Paraná and Santa Catarina States. They have an articulated subterraneous rhizome and straight and aerial branches originated from the knots.
