Nota 2: As folhas são usadas para preparar chás como calmantes, temperar saladas de frutas e gelatinas, dando-lhes sabor intenso de limão. Desenvolve-se bem em clima subtropical, a pleno sol, tolerando meia-sombra e solos argilosos pesados, sem problemas de drenagem.

A plant of the family Labiatae, of the species Melissa offficinalis L. 

Note 2: Its leaves are used to make tea for calming properties, season fruit salads and jellies adding an intense lemon taste to them. It develops itself well in subtropical climate with a high incidence of sunlight, but it can tolerate half of a shadow and heavy clay soils without drainage problems.
