Planta da família Scrophularaceaea, do gênero Mimulus, destacando-se a espécie: Mimulus cupreus Regel (M.luteus var. cupreus Hook).
Nota 1 e 2: Ela é originária das Américas. Ela é de pequeno porte, decumbente ou ereta, lisa ou pilosa, de ciclo anual. As flores são axilares, isoladas ou racemosas, corola tubular amarela, quando jovem, transformando-se em cor de cobre. Multiplica-se por sementes ou estacas, em canteiros de solo argiloso, sendo as mudas transferidas para vasos onde florescem abundantemente ao longo do verão nas regiões de clima subtropical.

Note 1 and 2: It is from the Americas. It short, decumbent or straight, smooth or hairy of annual cycle. Its flowers are axillar, or branchy, yellow tubular corolla, when young and copper color when grow old. It multiplies itself through seeds or stems in clayey soil yards, transferred to pots where blossoming occurs abundantly during summer of subtropical climate regions.
