Planta frutífera da família Anacardiacea, da espécie Bouea macrophylla Griff. (Gandaria macrophylla Blume).
Nota 1 e 2: Ela é originária da Malásia e introduzida no Brasil. Existem cultivares de polpa doce ou amarga. O fruto lembra um cajá, é ovado-orbicular e mede 3 cm x 5 cm de comprimento, com uma semente. A propagação é feita por estaquia.

Note 1 and 2: It is from Malaysia and introduced in Brazil. There are cultivars with sweet and sour pulp. The fruit is similar to a cajá, orbicular ovate with 3 cm x 5 cm of length, with a single seed. Its propagation is done by stem cuttings.
