GERVÃO
Planta da família Verbenaceae, da espécie Starchytarphetta cayenensis (L.C. Rich.) Vahl. (Verbena jamaicensis Vell.).
Nota 1 e 2: Ela está presente em todo território nacional. É anual, herbácea ou subarbustiva, ereta, ramificada. Suas folhas são opostas, ovais ou elípticas, serreadas, pubescentes. Suas flores são azuis ou violetas, pequenas, com inflorescências terminais formando espigas alongadas e delgadas. Tem aplicação medicinal como tônica, febrífuga, diurética, vermífuga e laxativa, além de propriedades inseticidas.

Note 1 and 2: It is present all over Brazil. It is annual, herbaceous or sub-shrub, straight, and branchy. Its leaves are opposite, oval or elliptical, sawed and pubescent. Its flowers are blue or violet, small with terminal inflorescences in elongated and delegated spikes. It has medicinal properties such as tonic, febrifuge, diuretic, vermifuge and laxative besides its use as insecticide.
