Árvore frutífera da família Myrtaceae, da espécie Campomanesia lineatifolia Ruiz & Pav. (Psidium rivulare Mart., Psidium lineatifolia Pers., Campomanesia cornifolia HBK).
Nota 1 e 2: Ela habita os estados do Pará e do Amazonas, dispersando-se geograficamente pelos ambientes úmidos desde o Panamá até o Peru. Ela tem porte mediano de 12 m, ramificada, de casca jovem lisa, descorticando-se mais tarde. As folhas são opostas ou subpostas, obovado-elípticas, de ápice longo-acuminado. As flores têm 5 sépalos velutíneos, 5 pétalas livres, brancas. Os frutos são mais ou menos globosos, medindo de 4 cm x 5 cm, amarelos, cheirosos, de sabor agradável e doce, com um cálice persistente com 4 sementes, muito amargas, que não se devem mastigar.

Note 1 and 2: It habits the states of Pará and Amazonas, wide spreading geographically to humid areas from Panama to Peru. It has average height of 12 m, branchy, of young and smooth bark, but ripping off as it grows old. Its leaves are opposite, or sub-opposite, elliptical obovate, of long acuminate apex. Its flowers have 5 velvet sepals, 5 free white petals. Its fruits are king of globous berries of 4cm x 5 cm, yellow, perfumed, of nice and sweet taste, with a persistent calyx, which shows 4 very bitter seeds that must not be chewed.
