Gramínea da família Gramineae, da espécie Axonopus compressus Sw.
Nota 1 e 2: Ela é originária da Argentina e Paraguai, introduzida nos estados de São Paulo e Rio Grande do Sul, suportando bem as baixas temperaturas e as geadas de inverno. Ela é perene, de crescimento prostrado, porte baixo, e devido aos estolhos forma densos gramados. Pode ser plantada exclusivamente, ou intercalada na cultura do milho, ou com outras forrageiras.

Note 1 and 2: It is from Argentina and Paraguay, introduced to the Brazilian states of São Paulo and Rio Grande do Sul, where bears cold temperatures and winter freeze. It is perennial, of prostrated growth, short size and due to its stolons forms thick yards. It can be planted exclusively alone or together with other foraging grasses.
