GROSELHA-DO-CEILÃO
Arbusto frutícola da família Flacourtiaceae, da espécie Dovyalys hebecarpa (Gardn.) Warb. (Alberia gardneri Clos.).
Nota 1 e 2: Ele é endêmico no Sri Lanka (antigo Ceilão). Ele produz bagas redondas de cor púrpura, do tamanho, forma e consistência da groselha, com 2-4 cm de diâmetro, ricas em vitamina C, de sabor agradavelmente ácido e que dão origem a magníficas geleias e conservas.
A shrub of the family Flacourtiaceae, of the species Dovyalys hebecarpa (Gardn.) Warb. (Alberia gardneri Clos.).
Note 1 and 2: It is endemic of Sri Lanka (former Ceilan). It produces purple round berries the size, shape and constancy of a gooseberry, with 2-4 cm of diameter, rich in vitamin C, sour and nice taste. They are used to make jellies and canned sweets.
