Nome vulgar de várias plantas da família Apocynacea, do gênero Aspidosperma das seguintes espécies: 1) A. macrocarpum (Mart.) Legr., 2) A. olivaceum Muell. Arg., 3) A. pyricollum Muell., 4) A. ramiflorum Muell. Arg., 5) A. sellowii Muell. Arg., 6) A. populifolium A. DC.
Nota 1 e 2: Elas fazem parte da floresta pluvial atlântica, desde o Rio de Janeiro, Minas Gerais até Santa Catarina. São altas, frondosas que propiciam madeira amarelada, compacta, rija, para uso de marcenaria em geral.

Note 1 and 2: They make part of the Atlantic Rain Forest, from Rio de Janeiro, Minas Gerais until Santa Catarina states. They are tall and imposing. Its wood is yellow, compact, hard used in cabinetmaking in general.
