Planta herbácea da família Marantaceae, da espécie Maranta arundinaceae L.
Nota 1 e 2: Natural do Brasil. Monocotiledônea, usada como forragem e muito indicada para a engorda de suínos. O rizoma fornece uma farinha de alto valor nutritivo e também pode ser utilizado contra febres intermitentes, contra a dispepsia, sendo que o suco serve contra mordedura de cobra e picadas de insetos.

Note 1 and 2: It is natural of Brazil. It is a monocotiledon, used as a forrage and recommended for swine fattening. The ryzom supplies a high nutritional value flour and it can also be used against intermitent fever and dyspepsy. The juice can be used against snake or insect bites.
