Nome popular dado a várias plantas ornamentais da família Liliaceae, das seguintes espécies Yucca glauca Nutt., Yucca filamentosa L. (iúca mansa), Yucca radiosa Trel., Yucca gloriosa Carr., Yucca aloifolia L. e Yucca elephantipes Regel.).
Nota 1 e 2: Elas são nativas do México e do Sudoeste dos EUA, de regiões áridas e cultivadas em muitas regiões do Brasil. Elas podem ser acaules, arborescentes, com folhas em forma de espada, sempre verdes, normalmente pungentes e às vezes denteadas. As flores são brancas, creme ou violeta, dispostas em panículas, que se abrem à noite exalando um perfume fraco.

Note 1 and 2: They are native of Mexico and the southeast of the USA, from arid regions and highly cultivated in Brazil. They can have no stem, be arborescent with green leaves in the spade shape; normally they are pungent and sometimes toothed. The flowers are white, cream or violet disposed in panicles, which open during the night exhaling a weak scent.
