Arbusto da família Compositae, da espécie Artemisia absinthium L.
Nota 1 e 2: Ele é originário da Europa e da Ásia e cultivado como aromática e medicinal nas Américas, inclusive no Brasil. Ele pode atingir até 2,0 m de altura, apresenta folhas pinatissectas ou bipinatissectas. Suas flores em capítulos pequenos, numerosos, pêndulos e paniculados, sendo as marginais femininas e as centrais hermafroditas. Seu cultivo está proibido, pois o seu licor contém absintina, que atua fortemente no sistema nervoso.

Note 1 and 2: It is from Europe and Asia, but cropped as aromatic medicinal in the Americas, including Brazil. It can reach until 2.0 m of height, has pinnate or bi pinnate leaves. Its flowers in numerous small chapters, which are swinging and paniculate, while the marginal ones are female, the central ones are hermaphrodites. Its cultivation is prohibited because its liquor has absinthe, which has a strong effect in the nervous system.
