Árvore da família Lauraceae, da espécie Licaria puchury-major Kost. (Acrodiclidium puchury-major Mez., Nectranda puchury-major Ness., Ocotea puchury-major Mart.).
Nota 1 e 2: Sua área de ocorrência é na floresta Amazônica. Ela pode atingir de 15-20 m de altura, râmulos glabros, córtex muito aromático; as folhas são alternas ou subopostas, cartáceas ou subcoriáceas, elípticas, glabras e brilhosas na página inferior. Inflorescências axilares, racemo-paniculadas. Flores com perianto tubuloso, 3 anteras, ovário glabro elipsoide. Fruto baga ovoide apresenta cúpula rugosa e engrossada. Contém duas amêndoas que são consideradas aromáticas, medicinais (estimulante, antidiarreico, contra dispepsia e problemas intestinais) e condimento.

Its leaves are alternated or sub opposite, chartaceous, or sub chartaceous, elliptical, glabrous, and bright on the inferior page. The inflorescences are axillar, paniculate racemes. The flowers have a tubulous perianth, 3 anthers, glabrous and ellipsoid ovary. The fruits are ovoid berries with a wrinkled and thick cupula, which have two nuts that are considered aromatic, medicinal (stimulant, antidiarrheal, against dyspepsia and intestine problems) and spice.
