AVELÃ
Fruto(noz) da aveleira,da família da Betulaceae, da espécie Corylus avellana L., mas outra espécie, C. maxima Mill. (C. tubulosa Willd.).
Nota 1 e 2: De origem européia, concentrada nas penínsulas ibérica e itálica, a aveleira é pouco cultivada no Brasil (Rio Grande do Sul e Santa Catarina) como componentes de pomares domésticos. É cultivada por suas saborosas e nutritivas nozes, consumidas nas festas de final de ano.
The fruit (nut) of the hazel nut tree of the family Betulaceae, of the species Corylus avellana L. and other species, for example, C. maxima Mill. (C. tubulosa Willd.).
Note 1 and 2: It is from Europe, specially in the iberic and italian peninsules. It is little cultivated in Brazil (only in Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Catarina states) as past of domestic orchards. It is cultivated due to its deliciuos and nutritiuos nuts highly consumed at Christmas time. Vulgarization: filbert.
