Nota 2: Ela é anual, perene, de 2 a 4 m de altura, de caule ereto, pouco ramificado e avermelhado. Flores amarelas, axilares, cápsulas ovóides, vilosas, com muitas sementes reniformes e vilosas. Do córtex de seu caule extraem-se valiosas fibras, longas e resistentes.

Note 2: It is annual, perennial, reaching from 2 to 4 m of height, straight, little branched and red stem. The flowers are yellow, axillary, ovoid capsules, hairy and with many reniform and hairy seeds. From the stem cortex, very rich, long and resistant fibers can be extracted. Vulgarization: roselle, vinegar plant.
