Planta herbácea da família Cucurbitaceae, da espécie Trianosperma tayuya Mart. (Bryonia tayuya (Vell.) Cogn.).
Nota 1 e 2: Sul-americana, nativa do Brasil, trepadeira, de raiz tuberosa; caule sulcado, ramoso e liso; folhas longopecioladas, flores em panícula, amarelas, pequenas. Fruto, cápsula pequena, ovóide, preta, contendo três sementes grandes comestíveis.

Note 1 and 2: It is from South America, native of Brazil. It is climbing, tuberous roots, sulcate. branchy and smooth stem; longpetiolate leaves, and the flowers are in small yellow panicules. The fruit is a small black oval capsule, containing three edible big seeds. Vulgarization: wild pumpkin.
