Nota 1 e 2: Ela é originária da região mediterrânica da Europa. Ela é semi-arbustiva, perene, que pode atingir 80 cm, caule quadrangular, ramificado com tendência a se entouceirar. As folhas são pecioladas, opostas, reticuladas, oblongas e pilosas. As flores são brancas ou violetas. Suas folhas e flores podem ser utilizadas como condimento, aromatizante de vinhos e em confeitaria, produto de beleza, controlando as inflamações da pele, rugas, irritações causadas pelo sol, e como medicinal, nas afecções bucais, da garganta, das amígdalas.

Its leaves are petiolate, opposite, reticulated, oblong and hairy. Its flowers are white or purple. Its leaves and flowers can be used as spice, wine and bakery aromatizing, skin care to control skin inflammations, wrinkles, sun rashes and as medicinal for mouth, throat and tonsil affections.
