Planta da família Polypodiaceae, da espécie Platycerium bifurcatum (Cav.) Chr.
Nota 1 e 2: Ela é procedente da Austrália, Nova Guiné, Nova Caledônia e Ilhas da Sonda. Ela é herbácea, epífita e acaule. As folhas da base são em forma de rim ou arredondadas, achatadas e aderentes ao substrato. Quando jovens, são pequenas e firmes, quando adultas, são muito grandes com recortes irregulares, bifurcados, pendentes, de textura coriácea. Cultivada em suportes de xaxim, em vasos com substrato para o cultivo de orquídeas ou em troncos de árvores, a meia-sombra. Multiplica-se pelas mudas pequenas que as raízes formam na superfície do substrato.

Note 1 and 2: It is from Australia, New Guinea, New Caledonian and Sunda Islands. It is herbaceous, epiphyte and stemless. Its base leaves are round or kidney shape, also flat and adhered to the substrate. When young, they are small and hard and when adults, they are very big with irregular bifurcated and hanging cuts, of coriaceous texture. It is cropped in fern fiber stands, in vase with substrate to orchid cropping or in tree trunks at half-shadow. It multiplies itself by small seedlings, which the roots produce on the substrate surface.
