Nome popular de arbusto da família Myrtaceae, da espécie Myrcia sellowiana Berg. (Gomidesia sellowiana Berg., Myrcia hartwegiana Kiaerskou).
Nota 1 e 2: Ele ocorre no estado de Santa Catarina e estende-se para Minas Gerais, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro e Rio Grande do Sul até ao Uruguai ao norte do Rio Negro. Ele pode atingir de 1,50 a 2,50 m de altura, de casca acinzentada e raminhos pubescentes, folhas curtopecioladas, oblongas, luzidias, inflorescências em panículas, acinzentadas, longas e pubescentes, com flores pequenas e pentâmeras. O seu fruto é globoso, pubescente, medindo 6x6 mm, coloração preta, sabor doce, contendo uma semente.
