Nome vulgar de diversas plantas medicinais das famílias Litraceae, Rubiaceae e Simplocaceae, das espécies: Cuphea ingrata, Cuphea aperta, Cuphea antisiphilitica, Cuphea lutescens, Cuphea balsomaria, Cuphea linifolia, Dechienxia cordigera, Symplocas parviflora, Symplocas platyphylla.
Nota 2: São usadas no tratamento de doenças do estômago e dos intestinos. O chá feito com raízes e folhas é poderoso febrífugo, adstringente e eupéptico.
