Árvore da família Aceraceae, da espécie Acer platanoides L.
Nota 1 e 2: Ela foi introduzida na Europa e cultivada no Brasil para ornamentação e arborização de praças e avenidas. Ela tem casca lisa e tanífera, folhas grandes, delgadas, glabras, verdes e luzidias na face inferior e ligeiramente cordiformes na base, com 5-7 lobos sinuados, denteados e acuminados. As flores em corimbos eretos, de cor amarelo-esverdeada e os frutos tipo sâmara, plana, de asas abertas quase horizontais. Sua seiva produz açúcar.

Note 1 and 2: It was introduced in Europe and cropped in Brazil for ornamentation and square and avenue forestation. It has smooth and taniferous bark glabrous delegate and big leaves, which are green, shinning on the inferior face, and slightly cordiform on the base with 5-7 acuminate bent toothed lobes. Its flowers are straight corymbs, of greenish yellow color and its fruits are samara shape, flat, of almost horizontal open wings. Its sap produces sugar.
