RABO-DE-BURRO
Planta daninha da família Gramineae, da espécie Andropogon bicornis L.
Nota 1 e 2: Ela é muito frequente em pastagens depauperadas, beira de estradas e terrenos baldios. Ela é perene, herbácea, rizomatosa, entouceirada, robusta, ereta, colmos glabros, medindo 80-160 cm de altura, com reprodução por sementes e através de curtos rizomas. Folhas com bainhas e lâminas glabras, medindo cerca de 20-30 cm de comprimento por 1-2 cm de largura; lígula curta, glabra esverdeada. Infestante muito agressiva, domina a forrageira de uma pastagem em pouco tempo; prefere solos arenosos e secos; quando recém-brotada, serve como forrageira de baixa palatabilidade. Possui propriedades medicinais, as raízes são diuréticas, emolientes e colagogas, indicada também contra afecções catarrais das vias urinárias e como desobstruente nas afecções hepáticas.

Note 1 and 2: It is a weed plant very frequent in depleted grasslands, roadsides and empty lots. It is perennial, herbaceous, rhizomatous, bunchy, robust, erect, with glabrous stalks, measuring 80-160 cm of height, with the reproduction by seeds and through short rhizomes. Leaves with sheaths and glabrous blades, measuring around 20-30 of length by 1-2 cm of width; short ligule, green glabrous. It is of an aggressive infestation, dominating the forage in a short period; it prefers sandy and dry soils; when fresh sprouted, it serves as a low palatability forage. It has medicinal properties; the roots are diuretic, emollient and colagog, also indicated against uterine phlegm disorders and unobstructed liverwort disorders.
