Árvore da família Lecythidaceae, da espécie Lecythis Zabucayo Aubl.
Nota 1 e 2: Nativa das florestas das Guianas e da Amazônia brasileira. Tem de 15 a 50 m de altura e 1,20 m de diâmetro. O tronco é retilíneo, copa imponente e folhagem densa. O fruto é pixídio lenhoso, com formato de bola, dotada de tampa espessa, que cai quando as nozes estão maduras e são liberadas e derrubadas no solo. Muito procuradas pelos símios, pois suas amêndoas têm uma textura cremosa e doce.

Note 1 and 2: It is native of the forests in the Guianas and in the Brazilian Amazonia. It can reach 15-50 m of height and has 1.20 m of diameter. Its trunk is rectilinear, imposing canopy and dense foliage. Its fruits are a woody pyxis shaped like a ball, with a thick lid, which falls when the nuts are ripen and released to the ground. They are widely looked by the apes because their almonds have a creamy and sweet texture.
