Planta trepadeira da família Convolvulaceae e das espécies Ipomoea convolvulus panduratus e Ipomoea hederacea Jacq.

Nota 2: Seus frutos se apresentam em forma de cápsulas e em toda a planta se forma um glicosídeo, a ipomeína. O chá feito com folhas e raízes tem efeito purgante, mas a fécula é de ação drástica.

Note 2: Its fruits present themselves in the forms of capsules and in the entire plant is formed a glycoside. The tea made from their leaves and roots has a purgative effect, but the starch has a drastic action.
