MARACUJÁ
Planta frutífera da família Passifloraceae, do gênero Passiflora, com mais de 580 espécies.
Nota 1 e 2: Ela é originária da América tropical, sendo a maioria delas nativas do Brasil. Ela é herbácea, escadente e destaca-se pelos frutos ricos em vitaminas A e C, em cálcio e em fósforo, que podem ser consumidos in natura, e também como sucos, licores, doces, geléias e sorvetes. Tem valor ornamental pelas belas flores, devido ao seu tamanho, cor e forma. Seu valor medicinal baseia-se nas propriedades calmantes da passiflorina, encontrada nas folhas e no suco. As folhas têm efeito desobstruente usadas no tratamento de irritações broncopulmonares e de tumores hemorroidais. O chá das folhas é diurético e combate febres intermitentes. As raízes, folhas e sementes têm propriedades anti-helmínticas.

Note 1 and 2: It is from Tropical America, being most of them native of Brazil. It is herbaceous, scadent, showing fruits rich in vitamin A and C, em in calcium and phosphorus. They can be eaten in natura, or juice, licor, sweets, jellies and ice-cream. Its ornamental value is due to its beautiful flowers and its size, color and shape. Its medicinal value is based on the passiflorine calming properties, found in the leaves and juice. Its leaves have a unobstructed effect being used in bronchopulmonary irritations and hemorroid tumors. Its roots, leaves and seeds have anti-helminth properties.
