Nota 1 e 2: Ele é procedente do Mediterrâneo e das Ilhas Canárias. Ele é semilenhoso, de 1,5 a 3 m de altura, com muitos ramos verdes, finos, eretos, com folhas pequenas dispostas esparsamente na ramagem fina que lembra juncos. As inflorescências são grandes, terminais, densas, com inúmeras flores amarelas de longa duração, que se formam na primavera-verão. Tolera climas muito frios e não gosta de calor. Multiplica-se por sementes produzidas em vagens finas.
An ornamental shrub of the family Leguminosae, of the species Spartium junceum L.
Note 1 and 2: It is from The Mediterranean and the Canary Islands. It is semi woody, of 1.5-3 m of height, of many thin and erect green branches with small leaves disposed sparsely in a thin branching similar to junco. Its terminal big and dense inflorescences with numerous long life yellow flowers, which are formed in the spring-summer time. It tolerates very cold temperatures and does not grow in hot temperatures. It multiplies itself by seeds produced in thin pods.
