Árvore da família Rubiaceae, da espécie Guetarda uruguayensis Cham. et Schl.
Nota 1 e 2: Ela ocorre nos estados da Bahia, Minas Gerais e Rio Grande do Sul. Suas folhas são oblongas, largas, pubescentes ou cinzento-tomentosas, com flores brancas ou róseas, muito aromáticas. Os frutos são drupas, pretas, elipsoides, aveludadas e comestíveis. Sua madeira é utilizada para mourões, caibros e lenha. Seu chá tem propriedades adstringentes.

Its fruits are drupes, which are black, ellipsoid, velvety and edible. Its wood is used to make stakes, rafters and firewood. Its tea has astringent properties.
