VENTOSA
Árvore da família Hernandiaceae, da espécie Hernandia guianensis Aubl. (Hernandia ovigera Lamb.)
Nota 1 e 2: Ela ocorre no Norte do Brasil (Amazônia) e nas Guianas. Pode atingir até 18 m de altura, com frutos globosos protegidos por invólucros membranosos em forma de ventosa. Ela é ramosa, e as folhas são alternas, densamente dispostas, e as flores em corimbos terminais e invólucros de cor cinérea brilhante.

Note 1 and 2: It occurs in the north of Brazil (Amazonia) and in the Guianas. It can reach until 18 m of height, with globous fruits protected by membranous involucres in the shape of a sucker. It is branchy of alternate and densely disposed leaves, and flowers disposed in terminal corymbs and shining cinereous color involucres.
