Arbusto da família Rubiaceae, da espécie Basanacantha spinosa Schum. (B. armata Hook F., Gardenia armata Sw., G. tetracantha Lam., Randia armata DC.)
Nota 1 e 2: Ele está presente no estado de Roraima. Ele pode atingir até 4 m de altura, armado de espinhos lenhosos, duros e agudos, opostos aos pares, inseridos nos nós. As flores são numerosas, grandes, curtopecioladas e aromáticas que aparecem na primavera. O fruto é baga globosa, coriácea, amarela, de polpa preta, polisperma, açucarada, duvidosamente comestível.

Note 1 and 2: It is present in the state of Roraima. It can reach until 4m of height, armed with hard and sharpened woody thorns, opposite in pairs inserted in the knots. The flowers are numerous, big, shortcut and aromatic, which blossom in spring as ruffled axillar chimes. The fruit is a globous coriaceous yellow drupe, with a polyspermy sweet black pulp, but doubtfully edible.
