CAPOROROCA-COMUM
Árvore da família Myrsinaceae, da espécie Rapanea guianensis Aubl., com três variedades no Brasil.
Nota 1 e 2: Ela é encontrada em todo a Brasil. Possui caule reto, com até com 15 m de altura e 70 cm de diâmetro; ela é frondosa, possui ramos grossos e casca cinzento-esverdeada grossa (até 2 cm), sulcada e verrucosa; folhas alternas, pecioladas, polimorfas, agudas na base a arredondadas na base, com até 10 cm de comprimento, simples, coriáceas, rígidas, opacas e glabras; inflorescência fasciculada, lateral, axilar; flores monóicas, quase brancas, aglomeradas; fruto drupa carnosa, violácea, com a forma de ervilha. Fornece madeira brancacento-acinzentada e com tons róseos, pesada, resistente, muito flexível, própria para marcenaria, carpintaria, carroçaria e principalmente tanoaria. A casca é muito taninosa, própria para cuturme.

Note 1 and 2: It is found all over Brazil. It has a straight stalk, with reaches up to 15 of height and 70 cm of diameter; it is leafy, it has many branches, the bark is grooved, warty and thick (until 2 cm). The leaves are alternate, petiolated, polymorphic, acute in the bottom and rounded in the top, simple, coriaceous, tough, opaque and glabrous, reaching up to 10 cm of length; the inflorescence is fasciculated, lateral and axillary; the flowers are monoic, almost white, and gathered; the fruit is a fleshy, violaceous and pea-shaped drupe. The tree provides a white-greysh wood with pink tones, it is is heavy, resistant, very flexible and appropriate for carpentry, woodwork, bodyshell and, overall, cooperage. The bark is rich in tannins, appropriate for tannery.
