PALMEIRA-METÁLICA
Planta da família Palmae, da espécie Chamaedorea Metallica Cook.
Nota 1 e 2: É originária do México. Ela é anã, herbácea, e cultivada em vasos destinados a terraços e interiores com iluminação adequada, ou em grupos a meia-sombra, em canteiros férteis, permeáveis, mantidos úmidos. Com 20 a 40 cm de altura, possui tronco fino, crescimento lento, com folhagem de grande efeito ornamental. Folhas em roseta alongada, largas, coriáceas, brilhantes justificando o nome específico e popular. Inflorescências despidas de interesse ornamental, finas e longas, masculinas e femininas em plantas separadas.

Note 1 and 2: It is from Mexico. It is a dwarf and herbaceous dwarf plant, cultivated in vases destined to terraces and interior with adequate illumination or in groups in a half shadow, in fertile and permeable seedbeds, kept wet. With 20-40 cm high, it has thin stem, slow growth, with foliage of big ornamental effect. Leaves in long rosette, big, coriaceous and bright justifying the particular and popular name. Inflorescences without ornamental relevance, thin and long ones, male or female ones in separated plants.
