Árvore da família Bignoniaceae, da espécie Crescentia cujete L. (C. acuminata HBK, C. angustifolia Willd., C. arborea Rafin., C. cuneifolia Gardn., C. fasciculata Miers, C. latifólia Rafin., C. pumila Rafin., C. plrectantha Miers., C. spathulata Miers).
Nota 1 e 2: É habitante de Minas Gerais, São Paulo, no Sul e Nordeste; Ela tem tamanho mediano, copa baixa e frondosa que produz cuias; O fruto, chamado de cabaça ou cuité, serve de vasilha rústica em todo o interior brasileiro e também para a fabricação de maracas, espécie de chocalho usado para acompanhamento de folias pagãs e comemorações religiosas.
