CAÇAMBA-DO-MATO
Árvore da família Lecythidaceae, da espécie Lecythis pisonis Camb. (L. ollaria Vell.).
Nota 1 e 2: Ela se encontra do Amazonas a Pernambuco, Bahia, Rio de Janeiro e São Paulo; Ela tem até 20-30 m de altura; As suas folhas são alternas, simples, curtopecioladas, oblongas, ápice acuminado, margens serreado-crenadas, glabras; O seu fruto é pixídio lenhoso, de casca muito grossa e dura, pardo-escura, mais ou menos cilíndrico, de base estreitada, medindo em regra 15-20 cm de altura x 7-10 cm de largura; A sua madeira serve para construção civil, marcenaria, postes e mourões; De sua casca se obtém estopa para a calafetagem, e água fervida na cumbuca vazia é remédio para males urinários.
