CACHACEIRA
Árvore da família Rutaceae, da espécie Hortia excelsa.
Nota 1 e 2: Conhecem-se poucos exemplares, reunidos no vale do Gurupá (PA); Ela é grande, de até 30 m de altura, com casca espessa e rugosa; As suas folhas são alternas, grandes, de 50-80 cm de comprimento e 15-22 cm de largura; O seu fruto é drupa de 3 cm de comprimento e 2 cm de diâmetro; Ela fornece madeira branco-amarelada, que, ao ser cortada a árvore, exala cheiro semelhante ao da aguardente de cana.

Note 1 and 2: Not many specimen are known, gathered in the Valley of Gurupá, in the state of Pará; It is big, with up to 30 m of height, with a thick and wrinkled bark; Its leaves are alternated and big, with 50-80 cm of length and 15-22 cm of width; Its drupe fruit has 3 cm of length and 2 of diameter; It has a yellow-whitish wood, that, when cut, exhales a smell similar to the sugar-cane rum.
