CACTO-ROSA
Planta da família Cactaceae, da espécie Pereskia grandifolia Haw. (P. bleo DC, não Cactus bleo H.B.K.; Cactus grandifolia L.K.; Cactus rosa Vell.).
Nota 1 e 2: Ela habita a Bahia; O seu caule é arbóreo cilíndrico, lenhoso, armado de terríveis acúleos reforçados, pretos ou muito escuros; O caule torna-se às vezes meio escandente; As suas folhas no geral são grandes, medindo 12-15 cm de comprimento; Os seus espinhos formam bastos tufos na madeira velha, mas via de regra são solitários nos ramos jovens; As suas flores são em pequenos cachos e lembram rosas, a razão da denominação vulgar; Os seus frutos são piriformes, obtusos, 3-angulados, 5 cm de comprimento.

Note 1 and 2: It inhabits Bahia state; Its stem is arboreal cylindrical, woody, armed with terrible reinforced aculeus that are black or very dark; The stem sometimes becomes scandent; Its leaves, in general, are big and reach up to 12-25 cm of length; Its thorns form many bunches in old wood, but by rule are lonely in the young branches; Its flowers are in small clusters and are similar to roses, this being the reason for the vulgar denomination; Its fruits are pear-shaped, obtuse, 3-angulated with 5cm of length.
