Nota 1 e 2: Ela está no presente no Brazil equatorial, especialmente no litoral, de São Paulo ao Espírito Santo e Bahia. Ela é alta, de espique retilíneo, de até 15 m de altura, notavelmente elegante. Os frutos são drupas numerosas e belas, 1-4 espermas, alongadas, castanho-tomentosas. O exocarpo é lenhoso, dissolvendo-se nas fibras do mesocarpo após maturação. As amêndoas dão óleo de indaiá-açú.

Note 1 and 2: It is present in the equatorial Brazil, especially on the coast, from São Paulo to Espírito Santo and Bahia states. It is elegant, tall, of rectilinear shape reaching until 15 m of height. Its fruits are numerous and beautiful drupes of 1-4 alongated brownish sperms. Its exocarp is woody, dissolving itself in the mesocarp fibers after maturation. The almond are oily.
