PITANGA-PRETA-VERDADEIRA
Planta da família Myrtaceae, da espécie Eugenia uniflora Berg.
Nota 1 e 2: É habitante das terras litorâneas de Santa Catarina, com ocorrência talvez no Rio Grande do Sul, que vegeta em touceiras ao longo das estradas e cercas, amplamente disseminada pelos pássaros. Os frutos amadurecem em dezembro, são circulares, medindo 15 x 11 mm e de coloração negra; polpa rubra, fundente, contendo geralmente uma semente, mas que pode chegar a 4, sabor doce.

Note 1 and 2: It is from the coastal lands of Santa Catarina state, maybe also growing in Rio Grande do Sul state, in bunches alongside the streets and fences, widely disseminated by the birds. The fruits ripen in December, are circular, with 15 x 11 mm and of black color; red and melting pulp, usually with one seed but it can have 4, and has a sweet taste.
