PITÓSPORO
Arbusto lenhoso da família Pittosporaceae, da espécie Pittosporum tobira (Thunb.) Ait.
Nota 1 e 2: É nativo da China e do Japão. Possui 2-3 m de altura, com ramificação que atinge altura mais ou menos uniforme. Folhas ornamentais, espessas, reunidas de maneira densa. Suas folhas são verde-acinzentadas com margens creme-amarelado. Ocorre também a variedade anã. Floresce eventualmente formando inflorescências terminais com flores branco-creme, perfumadas, porém de pouca importância ornamental. É cultivado isoladamente a pleno sol ou formando conjuntos em terra fértil. O crescimento muito lento permite seu cultivo em vasos. Multiplica-se por alporque e estacas.

Note 1 and 2: It is from China and Japan. It has 2-3 m high, with branches that reach up a uniform height. Ornamental leaves, thick ones, grouped in a dense way. Its leaves are green-grayish with cream-yellowish margins. The dwarf variety also occurs. It flourishes eventually making terminal inflorescences with white-cream and perfumed flowers, but of little ornamental importance. It is cultivated individually in full sun or making groups in a fertile soil. The very slow growth allows its cultivation in vases. It grows by layering and stakes.
