Árvore da família Apocynaceae, da espécie Parahancornia amapa (Hub.) Ducke (Hancornia amapa Hub.).
Nota 1 e 2: Nativa da Amazônia que habita as matas úmidas de terra firme ou várzea alta, podendo lacançar até 25 m de altura e diâmetro do tronco de 0,85 m. Altaneira, de tronco retilíneo. O látex tem grande importância na medicina popular amazônica, pois tomado ao natural, em pequenas doses é usado como anti-sifilítico e tônico.

Note 1 and 2: It is native of the Amazonian region occuring in the humid woods of hard soil or high tide. It can reach until 25 m of height and a trunk diameter of 0.85 m. It is soaring and has a straight trunk. The latex has a big importance in the amazonian popular medicine, because if taken naturally, in small doses can be used as antisyphilitic and tonic.
