Planta herbácea da família Liliaceae, da espécie Ophiopogon jaburan Lodd.
Nota 1 e 2: É originária da China e do Japão. Ela é perene, rizomatosa, de folhagem ornamental. Possui 20-40 cm de altura, folhas laminares, estreitas, longas, coriáceas, espessas, recurvadas e surgindo da base da planta. Tem folhas com estrias amarelo-douradas de grande efeito decorativo. Inflorescências curtas com flores lilases, pequenas, de importância secundária com fator ornamental. É cultivada em bordaduras ou como forração em canteiros a meia-sombra ou a pleno sol, de terra rica em matéria orgânica, permeável e mantida úmida. É bastante tolerante a baixas temperaturas. Multiplica-se por divisão de touceira.

It spreads by division of clumps.
